Raising funds for St Leonard's Hospice

This week is volunteers' week and 2020 is also the 35th Anniversary of St Leonards hospice, a big shout out to all that have helped though they years, you have done York proud.

St Leonard’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support for local people with life limiting illnesses. I love the work that they do, the people who run it and I think I speak for the whole community when I say they are an amazing resource for the area.

As they are a charity that heavily relies on the kindness of the public for the £5.8 million a year to keep the hospice going.  It has been a pleasure to support the hospice as a part of Minster FM.

One of my highlights of recent times was Bring A Pound to Work Day, where we took our radio shows on the road and visiting as many businesses, towns, schools and homes as we could within a day to raise as much money as we could for this amazing charity.

Coronavirus has meant this year we haven’t been able to get out there collecting, but last year was a blast! Have a listen and see who I met, where I went and what I got up to on this fundraising challenge.
